Poorly designed motor insurance websites are creating dissatisfied customers - and that means companies are losing the opportunity to fully exploit online sales, a survey has revealed.
A fifth of motor insurance consumers abandon online quote forms in annoyance, without getting a price, according to the survey from Foolproof, an ecommerce consultancy.
According to the survey, consumers are let down by a lack of comprehensive comparison data and the lengthy process of obtaining a quote
Frustrating features include navigating through multiple pages when retrieving a quote, being forced to create a login to retrieve that quote at a later date and the website failing to recognise postcodes and so ruining the entire quote process.
Nearly two-thirds of UK online adults anticipate buying their next car insurance policy online - and the survey reveals those people who look for a policy online are more likely to buy that policy on the web
